In its most basic form, 2048 features a grid of 4 by 4. When you first begin playing, there will be two "tiles" on the grid, each of which will display the number 2 or 4, respectively. You can move the tiles about by pressing the arrow keys on your keyboard. Hitting the arrow keys also allows you to make additional tiles, which will likewise be worth 2 or 4 points. When you collide two tiles of the same size, they merge to form a larger tile that shows the sum of the two smaller tiles' values. The more you do this, it should be evident that the tiles will climb higher and the board will get more congested as a result. Your goal is to get to the number 2048 before the game board is completely full.
