Working criteria of shear beam load cell
The shear beam load cell, like all other modern load cells, is essentially a sensor that converts force or weight into electrical signals through strain gauges. When a load is applied, the body of the load cell will bend due to the elasticity of the metal material it is made of. Additional strain gauges, strategically positioned and fixed on the surface of the load cell, will also stretch or compress along the main body. This changes their resistance and causes the voltage across the circuit to change. This effect is proportional to the initial force or weight, so it can be calculated.
